Napa Valley Vine Trail Coalition Launches Month of Movement Virtual Fitness & Fundraising Challenge

Event designed to promote the community and beyond to walk, hike, run or ride in support of the VINE TRAIL

The Napa Valley Vine Trail Coalition launched its inaugural community fundraising event, Month of Movement Challenge, on Saturday, May 1. Supporters have registered to walk, hike, run and bike on teams or as individuals for 47 to 470 miles. Individuals and teams will vie for both virtual awards and real prizes for miles moved and dollars raised during this thirty-one day event. The category winners will be announced during LOCO-MOTION Live!, a hybrid event (in-person and virtual), on Saturday, June 12th. This will be the Vine Trail Coalition’s fourth annual LOCO-MOTION fundraiser, but the first time as a three-part event with the Challenge as part one followed by an online auction and LOCO-MOTION Live!.

To date, over 26 teams and 350 supporters are participating, and the Challenge has brought forward local businesses as key Challenge Team sponsors. Along with our Trail Blazer sponsors – UBS Financial Services, RSA Family of Businesses and Safe Harbor Wine Storage – Challenge Team sponsors are featured on VINE TRAIL signs and Challenge swag. Challenge Team sponsors include: Clif Family Winery, Kara’s Cupcakes, Health Spa Napa Valley, Robertson Racing Team, Silicon Valley Bank, OKD Clydesdales, Athletic Feat/Bicycle Works, Winebow, Vineyard 29, Parisi Transportation Consulting, Visit Napa Valley and Bank of Marin. While the event has started, supporters can join at any time during the month of May and get credit for their miles moved earlier in the month.

LOCO-MOTION continues in June with a week-long online auction, June 5 – 12, which will feature VINE TRAIL inspired auction lots and buy-a-spot experiences. LOCO-MOTION culminates on the evening of June 12 with a hybrid virtual event – LOCO-MOTION Live! – that welcomes back as Master of Ceremonies Calistoga Mayor Chris Canning broadcasting from the Mare Island Brewing Co. in Vallejo, CA.
