Churchill Manor

Step back to 1889 in this exquisitely restored Napa mansion.  Entering across the expansive veranda and opening the leaded glass-prismed doors to behold carved redwood columns, fireplace mantels, huge sliding redwood pocket doors, and ornate ceiling moldings, it becomes clear why Churchill Manor was the first Napa residence to be placed on the National Historic Register.

Ten luxurious guest rooms feature vintage gas fireplaces, remodeled bathrooms, individual split-unit HVACs, and king or queen beds. Guests arrive to freshly-baked cookies and socialize during evening receptions with individual charcuterie plates and complimentary Napa Valley cabernet and chardonnay.  Full breakfasts are served in a leisurely timeframe each morning in the frescoed sunroom and on the veranda overlooking the fountain, lawns, and gardens.  Daily-changing menus include a fruit course followed by a choice of sweet or savory hot entrees.

Conveniently located a block south of the Napa Riverwalk, guests can stroll to Napa’s downtown restaurants, tasting rooms, entertainment, and shopping without having to drive.

While guests from around the world come and visit Napa Valley wineries, they return to enjoy the peace and relaxation of Churchill Manor.  After a day of wine tasting, lounging on the veranda or finding a cozy nook in one of the downstairs parlors is a welcome respite.  Guests may opt to master a jig-saw puzzle or play one of TWO grand pianos – the original 1901 Steinway built for the Churchill family was recently reacquired after a 60-year hiatus and now sits prominently in its original location.

Resting on an acre of land at the corner of quiet residential streets, Oak and Brown, Churchill Manor has been the perfect setting for a century of beautiful weddings and receptions.  When Brian Jensen and Joanna Guidotti purchased the Manor on December 31st, 1987 – in addition to innkeeping – Brian became the wedding chef and Joanna the wedding coordinator.  Over 1500 weddings have taken place during their tenure.  The couple used every winter to renovate and restore the mansion.  Joanna used her lawyer/investment banker skills to provide the administration, and Brian used his engineering/general contracting skills to level floors, rebuild bathrooms, and even replace the four 43-foot-tall chimneys that imploded during the 2014 quake – the rest of the mansion fared quite well, with a large wedding hosted that afternoon!  Together, they have preserved Churchill Manor in the hope that future generations will appreciate its significance and contribution to Napa Valley.

Napa Valley Petroleum

Napa Valley Petroleum, has enjoyed a long history of service to the valley as well as surrounding counties of the north bay. From the acquisition of Ed Conolly’s Mobil distributorship in St. Helena, joining with Bill Bresciani’s Exxon Distributorship in 1987, and bringing Webb and Webb’s distributorship into the fold, Napa Valley Petroleum has always sought to strengthen its commitment to the agricultural, business, and construction community, as well as providing clean, and safely operated retail outlets throughout the region that we too live in.

In 1991, John Chasuk, an attorney, architect, chef, and truly one of the most interesting men in the world, purchased Napa Valley Petroleum from Chuck O’Conner. Over the next 18 years, John grew the retail and cardlock locations from 1 to at one time 8.

As we entered the 2000’s and beyond, under John’s leadership and vision, NVP moved into its new corporate offices and plant in the repurposed “Langendorf Bread” building as well as jumping head first into a CNG facility, Bio Diesel, and the propane distribution business.

In July of 2009, all of us at NVP, as well as everyone that came in contact with him, lost one of the true “renaissance” men in the region. John was an entrepreneur and philanthropist, and deeply committed to the community he had chosen to call home just 18 years before.

Through his amazing generosity, and commitment to the culture that his company was an extension of his family, five long term employees were entrusted with 50% of Napa Valley Petroleum, Inc. These employees were able to purchase the remaining 50% from John’s estate in 2010.

Today, NVP, continues John’s vision and belief of treating their customers and employees, like family, which has served it well in maintaining dedicated, long term customers and employees.

Kiwanis Club of Napa

The Kiwanis Club of Napa is within Division 8 of the Cal-Nev-Ha District of Kiwanis International.  Founded in 1922, it is the oldest club in Division 8.  It is also the largest club in its division, at 150+ members and growing.   The Club’s priority is to assist the youth and seniors of the community in two primary ways:  by community giving and by performing direct community service.

To support its community giving program, the Club holds two major annual fundraisers.  The Crab Feed is held in February and the Fall Fundraiser is held in October, each of which typically net approximately $40,000.  These funds are then distributed throughout the year to youth and senior-oriented community programs and to graduating high school seniors via scholarships.

The Club also provides direct community service. They have built 58 playgrounds and counting in their long-term program to fund and build replacement playgrounds for the local schools.  The Club is building benches along the river trail so users have a place to sit.  They help with the “special kids” of the community by taking handicapped children on special trips throughout the year.  They take part in the annual Salvation Army holiday bell-ringing fundraiser.  And, in the past, they have built a greenhouse at Connolly Ranch, provided holiday gifts to needy families and participated in Rebuilding Together.  The Club focuses on helping people that need a hand and not a handout.

If you are interested in membership in a truly dynamic organization that will provide you with great personal satisfaction in meaningful service to your community, but which will allow you to serve at your own pace in an atmosphere of fun and good fellowship, this is the Club for you.  There are no secret handshakes or special rituals, just a group of people interested in the same thing.

The Kiwanis Club of Napa feels good by doing good and has fun while doing it.

Trefethen Family Vineyards

One of Napa Valley’s pioneering wineries, Trefethen Family Vineyards crafts distinguished estate grown wines that express the unique spirit of their land, vines, and people. The dedication of the Trefethen family is manifest in every aspect of the operation, from the soil to the table, including sustainable farming, thoughtful winemaking and gracious hospitality.

In 1968, when Eugene and Catherine Trefethen purchased farmland just north of the town of Napa, their property—like much of the valley at the time—contained orchards and hayfields in addition to vineyards. Demonstrating an uncanny vision for the future of the valley, they began to plant vineyards across the estate, focusing on the quality varietals that they enjoyed drinking, including a variety that was rather rare at the time: Chardonnay.

In 1973, Eugene and Catherine’s son John Trefethen and his new bride Janet began making wines from the estate, breathing life back into a historic winery on the property. At the Gault Millau Wine Olympics, held in Paris in 1979, the 1976 Trefethen Chardonnay was declared “The Best Chardonnay in the World.” John and Janet built on this early success, finding fans for other Trefethen wines—including Cabernet Sauvignon, Dry Riesling, and Merlot—and their wider efforts played a pivotal role in turning the Napa Valley into the world-class wine and food region it is today.

More recently, John and Janet’s two children—Hailey and Lorenzo Trefethen—became the third generation of the family to steward the estate. Steadfast in their family’s commitment, Hailey and Lorenzo, along with CEO Jon Ruel, lead a team that is building on a legacy of estate grown wines of remarkable quality and integrity, while embracing the company’s core values such as learning and sustainability.

A visit to Trefethen Family Vineyards is an extraordinary experience, beginning with the long, tree-lined driveway flanked by their estate vineyards. Tastings are conducted inside the atmospheric historic winery, outdoors in the fresh air of their beautiful courtyard, and within The Villa, a former Trefethen family residence. To experience Trefethen’s bright and food-friendly wines right where the grapes are grown and wines are crafted is truly memorable.

BMW of Fairfield

In the past two years, two new auto dealerships have opened their doors to serve residents of Napa Valley and surrounding areas.  BMW of Fairfield launched in July of 2021, and its sister store, Volkswagen of Fairfield, opened in July of this year.  Both dealerships share a commitment to a better way of selling and servicing vehicles, an approach focused on producing outstanding customer and employee experiences at every touchpoint, every day.

The dealerships are owned by Fairfield Automotive Partners, a partnership between two family-owned companies.  The majority owner, Third Set Partners, is an African-American-owned company founded in 2018 to develop and operate auto dealerships in northern California.  Third Set’s partner, Schomp Automotive, is a fourth-generation owner and operator of auto dealerships, with 10 locations in Colorado and Utah.

At BMW of Fairfield and Volkswagen of Fairfield, we strive to be More Than a Dealership.  We’re determined to be a great place to work, a good citizen of the communities where we do business, and the best place in the area to purchase and service your car.

Transparency and efficiency are at the heart of our approach to selling vehicles.  This is encapsulated in our brand promise:  One Price, One Person, One HourTM.

One Price is our commitment of transparency to our customers.  We believe the best customer experience is delivered by providing upfront pricing to every customer via every medium we use.  We carefully study our market to determine a fair price for every vehicle we sell, advertise those prices online, in print, and in person at our dealerships, and take the negotiation process—a process that most people detest—out of our sales model.  The result has been exceptionally high customer satisfaction scores at both of our dealerships.

One Person is our commitment to developing strong relationships with our customers.  From the moment a customer submits a lead via the internet, phone or in-person visit, he or she works with a single Client Advisor through the entire sales process.  This avoids the cumbersome and time-consuming hand-off from greeter to salesperson to finance manager that characterizes the sales process at traditional dealerships.

One Hour is our commitment to efficiency and respect for our customer’s time.  We strive to complete the sale transaction within 60 minutes of the time our customer decides which vehicle he or she wants to purchase.  We understand that the traditional car buying process simply takes too long, and we do everything we can to streamline it.

We have also invested in state-of-the-art facilities.  BMW of Fairfield’s brand-new facility is the first BMW dealership in the nation built from the ground up to BMW’s Retail Next standard.  Meanwhile, Volkswagen of Fairfield is undergoing a complete renovation that will make it the most up-to-date Volkswagen facility in the US.

Our focus on transparency and efficiency is what makes BMW of Fairfield and Volkswagen of Fairfield the dealerships that customers love as much as they love their cars.

Gentleman Farmer Wines

Founded by Joey Wolosz and Jeff Durham, Gentleman Farmer specializes in elegantly crafted, old world-inspired wines from sustainability-farmed vineyard sites in Napa Valley. The boutique winery was founded as a means of reconnecting with what is real and what it means to be human in an increasingly digital age. We are, therefore, an ode to the tactile, the analogue, the acoustic, and the artisanal.

We launched with the 2005 vintage with 80 cases. Today we are still relatively small, less than 2,000. To give some perspective, next to the large Napa wineries on Highway 29, we would be the equivalent of the small farmstand on the side of the road that you may pass without noticing.

This small production is a benefit. It allows us to work with our hands. We walk our dedicated rows of vines during the growing season, tasting for flavor development and taking field samples. The days before we pick we make a pass with my pruning shears to clear leaves from around the grapes, ensuring only beautiful clusters get into the picking bins the early morning of harvest.

We sort the grapes by hand to be certain only high-quality fruit goes into barrel or tank.

With this sort of intimacy, we can honestly say that we have been with every berry that makes it into our wines.

Additionally, consumer-direct services encompass all shipping needs, including wine clubs, release shipments, tasting room orders, e-commerce, and will-call orders.

Our philosophy is based on the longstanding principles of our membership cooperative: provide traditional customer service, and operate with care, integrity, professionalism, and knowledge. All services are operated at cost, with the goal being to match revenues and expenses for a break-even budget. Any excess revenues generated are taxed at the co-op level rather than being redistributed to members and taxed at the higher member tax rate. Our services now include consumer-direct fulfillment. “WSC Direct” ships wine to all states where members have legal, compliant access. Choices in shipping materials include sustainably made pulp products, standard foam insulated shippers, and custom logo corrugated boxes. Napa Valley Exposition

What do the Napa Home Show, MMA competitions, Weekly Bingo, BottleRock and Livestock Shows have in common? They all happen at the Napa Valley Exposition, one of the most diverse and unique event spaces in the region. With its towering redwoods, huge buildings, expansive parking areas, beautifully manicured lawn areas, and convenient and modern RV Park the 34-acre Napa Valley Expo has hosted events for over 90 years.

Under new leadership the Expo is embracing the changing post pandemic event landscape with a focus on maintaining historical and agricultural traditions while prioritizing innovation and efficiencies. Being everything to everyone is an incredible challenge, but the Expo was built to highlight Napa County, its recreation, agriculture and industry, a huge undertaking that is vastly different today than it was when the facility first opened. Embracing these mandates and staying true to the mission of providing facilities to serve the community in times of emergency and celebration is the daily role of the small but talented Expo team.

The State owned and operated facility is made of up of three distinctly different businesses. The first is the historic Napa Town and Country Fair, a traditional annual event with something for everyone from livestock to pig races, and headliner concerts to a quilt show, as well as all the tasty Fair food and thrilling rides. Napa Valley Expo RV Park is another business with 28 large spaces with full hook ups and easy access. Within walking distance of downtown Napa, the RV Park stays almost full during the 9 months of the year it is open.

The third business is the actual Napa Valley Expo site itself. Throughout the year the Expo is rented to a wide variety of businesses and promoters to hold events. This activity coupled with the income from the RV Park and the Fair is what sustains the venue year around. Combined, the income from these three operations is what provides the funding sources to sustain the venue year around. And through these operations the Expo is also an economic driver with profound positive fiscal impacts to the local region.

The Napa Town & Country Fair returns on Thursday, August 10th through Sunday the 13th at the Napa Valley Expo. Gates open at 2pm Thursday and Friday, and noon on Saturday and Sunday. Advance tickets are available at napafair.org and start at $7 and kids 5 and under are FREE. Please follow the fair on Facebook, TikTok and Instagram @napatowncountryfair

The Padis family offers personalized service and exceptional value and aims to exceed your expectations – each and every time you visit. We hope to be your family jeweler for every occasion.

Wine & Jewelry – Why the Combo?

After long days building their jewelry business from stringing pukka shells on the street of Telegraph Avenue in Berkley to fine jewelry and with four kids to look after, Steve and Judy Padis often found themselves heading to the wine country for some weekend rest and relaxation. Steve, through his time spent in the valley, became a fervent appreciator and collector of Napa wines and eventually decided he wanted to pursue his own. In the early 2000’s, the family purchased a 15 acre property to become Padis Vineyards, and brought on Robert Foley as the winemaker.

Robert “Bob” Foley began his winemaking career in Napa in 1977, and has since produced for esteemed labels such as Pride Switchback Ridge, Paloma and his own label, Robert Foley Vineyards. As the winemaker for Padis Vineyards for over 15 years, Bob shares his passion and deep knowledge of valley fruit, ensuring Padis wines are approachable yet complex.

Our Wines

Padis wines highlight the idyllic climate conditions of the Oak Knoll AVA. The Padis Vineyards property yields Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot fruit and the label produces roughly 3000 cases of wine per year.

Current offerings include a Chardonnay from Carneros, a red blend called Sintilation – a play on the gemological term “scintillation” which describes the sparkle of a diamond and a nod to the jewelry roots of the Padis family – and our crown jewel, a 100% estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon.

With acclaimed winemaker Robert Foley at the helm, Padis Vineyards has a classic and timeless Napa Valley profile, with bold cabs, luscious Chardonnays and blends that drink easily.

Our Jewelry Experience

Locally & Family Owned and Operated:  The Padis family offers personalized service and exceptional value and aims to exceed your expectations – each and every time you visit.

Grocery Outlet

At Grocery Outlet, we love brands. Like, really love them. That’s why we work so hard every day to bring our customers the brands they love at prices that are nothing short of pure bliss. In fact, we’ve been helping customers save big since 1946. That’s when our founder Jim Read opened his very first store, selling military surplus at deep discount prices.

The rest, as they say, is history. And today, the third generation of the Read family is leading the way, with over 400 stores across the nation and more than 1.5 million shoppers hitting the aisles each week. That makes Grocery Outlet the nation’s largest extreme value retailer. A feat we’re more than proud of.

How do we do it? With the help of our brilliant buyers who shop the world, traveling thousands of miles each year to find the most thrilling deals on brand name groceries. Whether it’s through packaging changes, surplus inventory or product overruns, our buyers source it all – everything from fresh meat and produce to our natural and organic NOSH items to the WOW deals we can hardly believe ourselves.

And, of course, we wouldn’t be anywhere without the hundreds of local families who own and operate their own Grocery Outlet stores, allowing us to deliver superior customer service personalized to each of the local communities we serve. So come in and see for yourself. It might seem like a dream, but we guarantee the savings couldn’t be more real.

Community Action of Napa Valley

Food insecurity is rising rapidly in Napa Valley as the high cost of living, the end of pandemic related food assistance, and inflation combine to create the perfect storm for low-income children, families, and seniors. Ten thousand people – 14% of Napa County’s population – already rely on Community Action of Napa Valley (CANV) for food assistance, and the numbers are growing.

Part of a nationwide network, CANV has been at the forefront of poverty-fighting initiatives in the Valley for nearly 60 years. In 1964, after seeing that millions of Americans were suffering the hardships of poverty, and with urging from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., President Lyndon B. Johnson declared a national War on Poverty. That year, the Economic Opportunity Act created a national network of community action agencies. Nearly 60 years later, the principles upon which these agencies were created remain true:

  • We believe that this nation has the capacity and moral obligation to ensure that no one is forced to endure the hardships of poverty.
  • We believe that with hope, adequate resources and opportunities, everyone can reach their fullest potential, and we are committed to achieving that vision.

There are now over 1,000 Community Action agencies across the United States providing help and hope, but poverty remains and the work continues. Today in Napa County, the high cost of living leaves many people unable to consistently afford food in addition to housing, transportation, child care and medical expenses. In response, CANV made the strategic determination in 2017 to focus primarily on hunger relief.

Prior to the pandemic, CANV was distributing 2M pounds of food per year; that has now almost doubled. CANV’s Food Bank provides a variety of nutritious food to over 6,000 low-income individuals, seniors, and non-profit organizations throughout Napa County. Additionally, CANV’s Meals on Wheels program serves 450 seniors daily.

Today, CANV operates the Napa Food Bank, 5 Food Pantries, Meals on Wheels for Napa County, Wellness on Wheels, and two licensed pre-schools for low-income students. In accomplishing our mission, part of the Food Bank program is the Napa Food Pantry, which offers seven locations.

Helping & empowering people & communities throughout Napa Valley is our mission. To learn how you can assist in advancing the CANV mission, call us at (707) 253-6100 or visit us at canv.org.

V. Sattui Winery

In 1885, Vittorio Sattui opened a small winery in San Francisco’s North Beach, marking the birth of what would become, after four generations, a storied Italian tradition in the Napa Valley – V. Sattui Winery.

Today, the majestic stone winery sits on a 38-acre organically-farmed vineyard estate and boasts a vast portfolio of 90+ point rated wines, each sold only sold at the winery. V. Sattui is famous for its bustling Italian marketplace, featuring more than 200 cheeses, house-cured salami, and locally baked breads. Sandwiches, salads, and other artisanal foods are made fresh daily in their own kitchen. Guests may sample wines in a variety of indoor and outdoor venues and enjoy guided daily tours, elevated wine and food pairings, and picnic al fresco on their sprawling shaded grounds.

V. Sattui wines are sustainably farmed and sourced mostly from their own vineyard estates, yielding a wide range of terroir and varietals that produce a long portfolio of highly-awarded wines. Under the direction of Winemaker Brooks Painter, V. Sattui crafts one of the largest selections of award-winning, small-batch wines suiting a wide range of tastes.

V. Sattui Winery is dedicated to sustainability and committed to a future of wine growing that ensures the wellness and vitality of their employees and community and values viticultural sustainability and environmental stewardship. Long running programs and certifications include CCFO (California Certified Organic Farmers) and Fish Friendly Farming. Beginning 2023, V. Sattui has implemented a conversion of all 200+ acres of estate vineyards to 100% organic farming. Additionally, they support outside organizations making positive changes for the environment. With the sale of every bottle of Napa Valley Terra Forza (Strong Earth), V. Sattui will donate $1 towards Napa Valley Grapegrowers, an organization actively engaged in environmental and educational programs such as water conservation, climate-smart farming and regenerative practices, and wildfire preparedness.

In an area acclaimed for memorable dining, it is V. Sattui’s events and weddings that make it stand out from the rest as a venue offering the best in wine, food, and ambience. In-house Michelin star chef Stefano Masanti continually dazzles groups, large and small, with his Italian gastronomical creations.

The winery located on a 38-acre vineyard estate in the heart of the Napa Valley and welcomes visitors daily for wine tastings and tours between 9am – 6pm (9am – 5pm winter months), as well as BBQ on weekends during the warmer months.

Raymond Vineyards

Raymond Vineyards, founded in 1974, is one of Napa Valley’s pioneers and great estates. Arriving in Napa in 1933, the Raymond family became deeply connected to the valley’s winemaking origins. In 1970, they established a 90-acre estate in Rutherford that now comprises 300 acres in Rutherford, St. Helena, and Jameson Canyon. Five generations of the Raymond family created a Napa icon, with an enduring reputation for elegant wines with a beautiful balance of finesse, power, and complexity.

Today, inspired by the vision of Proprietor Jean-Charles Boisset, Raymond is a dynamic destination dedicated to inspiring its guests’ passion for fine wine in an environment of exploration, creativity, and elegant whimsicality, where each in a series of diverse experiences progresses visitors into another world of discovery and exceptional wines.

Jean-Charles Boisset serves as president of Boisset Family Estates, one of the world’s leading family-owned wine companies, with wineries in Burgundy, Beaujolais, the Rhone Valley, the South of France, and expertise in French sparkling wines. Boisset’s August 2009 purchase of Raymond Vineyards expanded the company’s footprint in the New World, which already included properties in Canada and California’s Russian River Valley, making it one of the top twenty-five producers in the US.

Jean-Charles has been vital to the family firm’s expansion through organic growth and by building a collection of wineries that fit the family’s vision and share its values. Raymond’s Rutherford and St. Helena estate vineyards are certified organic and Biodynamic, and 100% of the winery’s power comes from renewable solar energy.  He believes Raymond Vineyards has a profound responsibility to pass along a clean environment and revitalized, healthy soil for future generations.

Our farming techniques use cover crops, the application of Biodynamic® specific preparations and composts, and the maintenance of biodiversity within the estate vineyard property. Sheep, goats, and chickens now make their home in our Theater of Nature and provide some of the compost that nourishes our vineyards.

Raymond’s 90-acre estate vineyards in Rutherford and St. Helena are certified organic and Biodynamic®, holistic farming methods that are hallmarks of Boisset family properties worldwide, including DeLoach Vineyards in Sonoma’s Russian River Valley. In addition to CCOF and Demeter Biodynamic, the Raymond vineyards are also certified by Napa Green, Fish Friendly Farming, and the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance.

Garaventa’s Florist

Family owned and operated, Garaventa’s Florist has served the Napa Valley for 52 years. “We’ve gotten to know many generations of families and helped them in their time of need,” said Gary Garaventa, who owns the store with his wife, Patty.

“We’ve served them for all occasions, from birthdays, wedding and anniversaries to memorial services and funerals. We believe in excellent customer service and quality flowers. Our dedicated staff is friendly and always ready to offer prompt and helpful assistance.” Garaventa’s Florist has a huge selection of fresh flowers and offers anything in contemporary and traditional arrangements. We have tropical flowers, plants, gift baskets, candles and can help with event planning.

For everlasting memories, we can also make silk and dried arrangements to order. The Garaventa family has been in Napa for five generations.

“My daughter, Gina Garaventa McClellin, has worked in the store for 25 years and is slowly taking over the business.  She remains committed to our standards. We

believe in the basic fundamentals of excellent service to our customers, our staff and helping our community,” said Gary who has served on numerous Napa community boards and committees, especially pertaining to education and health. “The community has been good to us and we want to give back as much as we have gotten. Patty is also active in the community, and is a past President of the Noon Kiwanis Club of Napa”.

Gary has been in the flower industry for 64 years, starting as a flower delivery person while he was still in school “I enjoyed the floral business and kept my hand in it. As time passed and I had the opportunity, I told my wife that I could run a florist store. I learned from the best people. At first, it was just me. When I’d go out for deliveries, I’d hang a sign on the door saying I’d re-open it when I got back. My aunt sometimes watched the store for me during deliveries. We started in a small 800 sq. ft. building on Jefferson. When we moved to 851 Lincoln Avenue we only used the front of the store. We have now expanded to 3,000 sq.ft.  We’ve had a lot of blessings, met good people and helped our community over the years. We plan to always continue that tradition”.

Van Winden’s Garden Center

Celebrating 70 Years in Business

Peter’s commitment to quality, selection, and service has earned him a reputation that has carried the business for well over half a century. He’s constantly looking to improve the business by reading and studying plants. Whenever he travels, Peter stops at nurseries to research new varieties of flowers and plants that can be introduced into the Napa climate.

Another aspect owing to the nursery’s longevity is a committed staff, some of whom are family. After Peter married his wife, Johanna, he bought the nursery from his family. Together they created a partnership that had Johanna handling 300 house accounts (before that age of credit cards) while Peter worked at the nursery until 6:00, then did paperwork often until midnight at home. In 1979, they purchased land on Big Ranch Road and started their growing grounds. There they grow many of the plants sold at the nursery. It is also where they try out new varieties to see if they are suited for the Napa Valley climate.

Today, 4 of their 6 daughters work at the nursery, assuming various responsibilities to help run the business. The staff is comprised of gardening experts who have been with the nursery for years. The combination of loyalty and knowledge from the team has been a great contribution to Van Winden’s success.

Brendel Wines

A NEW KIND OF NAPA

Welcome to Brendel. You like good wine too? Small world! We make good wine. Come on in and visit us.

The Napa Valley has given us some of the best soil on Earth. But it’s also been described as a region of exclusivity. An area defined by fine wine and the people who drink it. Luckily, we don’t make fine wine. We make good wine. Because while fine wine brings some people together, good wine brings everyone together.

But, don’t get us wrong. We really like making good wine. We are purveyors of pure. This describes the method and the intentions of the people who make the wines. All our wines are made with organically farmed 100% Napa Valley fruit. We let the soil do its job and let the grapes speak for themselves.

We believe fun is essential to a life lived well. And fun is best when shared. We opened our Brendel Wine Bar in downtown Napa to bring good wine, good food, and good people together. Sounds like fun to us. Wines are available by the bottle, by the glass, in flights, and available for retail. We’re flexible and friendly.

We can’t wait to see you.

We’re proud to support the Napa Valley. Unlike traditional second homes that sit vacant much of the year, the owners we serve use their home and support local shops and restaurants year-round. In addition, we employ local businesses, such as home cleaners, landscapers and technicians to care for and maintain each property. Pacaso only serves owners, not renters, who are invested in their home and community.

In August 2021, we launched our first community giving program. We’re supporting sustainability initiatives by donating a total of $20,000 for each home sold in Napa and Sonoma counties to local nonprofit partners that support housing, economic and environmental sustainability. Our primary partner is affordable housing developer Burbank Housing, which will receive 80% of our total giving funds through 2022, with a minimum donation of $100,000 during that period.

Pacaso was founded by Zillow Group executives, including Zillow co-founder and former CEO Spencer Rascoff, and dotloop founder and former CEO Austin Allison.
