Following the appointment of Richard Brown last month as Levendi’s new president, founders David and James Gianulias have signed a lease on a 2000 square foot storefront space in downtown Napa to open its newest wine tasting room to the public.
The tasting room is located in downtown Napa’s “West End” neighborhood at 1465 1st Street steps from the luxurious five-star Andaz Napa Hotel.
“We selected a storefront in the heart of downtown Napa because of its energy and excitement and to provide wine consumers convenient access to experience Levendi wines up close and personal – to enable us to showcase the quality of our wines in a glass,” said David Gianulias.
Just minutes from Levendi’s vineyards, the tasting room will be a place for those wanting to experience the winery’s story in more depth. Levendi’s favorite golf venue, the Chardonnay Golf Club, is also close, and will offer cooperative leisure opportunities to wine enthusiasts.
Historically, Levendi has delivered its full-bodied, complex wines to wine enthusiasts through its website and by way of distributors and top industry retail outlets. Their highly rated, singlevineyard, premium wines can be acquired at Total Wine & More, BevMo!, and Hi-Time Cellars. The levendywinery.com website features coveted library selections of its Cabernets – Legacy, Stagecoach, Sweetwater Ranch, and Symphonia – and reserve Chardonnay.
President Richard Brown says that while the winery has garnered many awards, and positive reviews by the likes of James Suckling and Wine Spectator, the brand hasn’t yet achieved the consumer name recognition and reach that it will now have as a presence in downtown Napa, where access to tasting is abundant.
“I’m personally excited about securing this space in an upscale part of Napa,” Brown said. “Visibility is key, and the tasting room will afford us a path to greater familiarity with consumers as we grow and expand.”
Brown said Levendi will be launching its newly configured cellar club program with the opening of the tasting room and Levendi website, and will allow access to premium wines, afford generous members only pricing, invitations to select VIP events and opportunities for additional privileges reserved for members only.
With a target of a late summer opening, Levendi’s new retail presence within the Napa community will coincide with one of the region’s busiest tourist seasons – fall harvest.
About Levendi Winery:
Born of a strong Greek tradition of private winemaking dating back for centuries, Levendi is owned and operated by the Gianulias family. Since 1926, we have propagated, refined and developed the Levendi brand on Napa Valley soil to create a multi-generational legacy of premium wines. What began at a family table – through laughter and a wish to produce something special and unique – that spirit is reflected throughout our vineyards, winery and within each bottle.
