Ole Health Beat – April Newsletter

Now Open: OLE Health American Canyon!

With the addition of our new facility in American Canyon, OLE Health now has a physical presence in every major population center in Napa County! On April 24, we were joined by community partners, elected officials, and OLE Health leadership to officially open our doors to the American Canyon community. This facility is unique from our other locations, as it focuses on same and next-day appointments for injuries and illnesses. Patients needing preventative, screening, or chronic disease management care should continue visiting our other health centers in Calistoga, Napa, Fairfield, and St. Helena.

Sunday Funday Calistoga

On March 26 the sun and nearly 300 people came out for OLE Health’s Sunday Funday in Calistoga! There was food, entertainment, games, and nearly 40 people received health screenings. Thank you to our community partners that participated and the volunteers who helped make this event such a success. If you missed out on the festivities, mark your calendars for our next Sunday Funday, June 25, 2023, 1:00–3:00 p.m. at our OLE Health South Napa Campus, 300 Hartle Court, Napa.

Spotlight Profile

Elias Banuelos, MD
Medical Director, Up Valley Sites

Elias Banuelos joined OLE Health in 2022 asMedical Director for Up Valley Sites, which includes our health centers in St. Helena and Calistoga. It’s a unique and tight-knit community that needs a special type of provider in the role. Though originally from Southern California, Dr. Banuelos understands that community. He grew up the youngest of seven children in a home where Spanish was the primary language. Both his parents worked to support the family. He went to college to become an optometrist but changed his mind as he interacted with other students bound for medical school. When it came time to plan his career, he thought fondly of the family physician he knew from his childhood who cared for entire families, including his own. He remembered how the entire community relied on that doctor for answers when someone was ill and decided to pursue family medicine. In a full circle moment, coming to OLE Health has allowed him to be that resource for the Calistoga community. We spoke with Dr. Banuelos to learn a little more about his background, career, and what makes OLE Health so vital Up Valley.
