Coffee and conversation with a cop

Please join the Napa Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, May 11 at the Napa Valley Marriott for Coffee and a Q&A with Napa Chief of Police Steve Potter.

Topics being discussed by Potter will range from the effects of California’s Proposition 47, the Reduced Penalties Initiative, which reduces the classification of most “non-serious and non-violent property and drug crimes” to homelessness, to why Napa remains one of the safest and best places to live despite a public perception of an uptick in local crime.

This event is free to the public, but registration is required to ensure appropriate seating and space.

Please go to napachamber.com to RSVP.

2017 NCC Business Showcase and reception:

Formerly the NCC Business Expo, this event is moving back to the Meritage Resort. The event will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 15 from 4:30 -7:30 p.m.

In conjunction with the announcement of the showcase, the Chamber would also like to invite NCC members to join in our collaboration with the Napa Valley Marketplace June business issue.

Members will receive special advertisement pricing designed to help showcase NCC’s “strength in numbers.”

This is a great opportunity for us to communicate our #supportNCCmembers messaging to more than 43,000 households from American Canyon to St. Helena with one collaborative, unified voice.

It will also enable us to get an early jump on what promises to be the Chamber’s largest business showcase event ever.

The deadline to reserve this exclusive ad opportunity is June 1 by 5 p.m. Contact Linda Bausch at [email protected] for more details or to book your space today.

Contact Philippa Perry at [email protected] for more information/details on the business showcase.

Thank you for engaging, connecting and collaborating with us, and the Napa Valley Marketplace Magazine.

NCC member news:

Kudos to Joe Peatman, Jr. and Downtown Joe’s Brewery and Restaurant for signing on as the founding sponsor of the Napa Silverados.

Bruce Johnston continues to spearhead the effort to bring minor league baseball to Napa.

I’ve shared my feelings about the positive impact this would have on our family-oriented community and encourage anyone looking for new and unique possibilities to promote their business to call 707-254-8377 for more information and details.

Congratulations to Dotty Hopkins of Keller Williams on being named top producer for Northern California, Hawaii and Napa Valley for the local real estate firm.

Also, congratulations to 2015 NCC Ambassador of the Year Kathleen Dreessen who was recently named as the board chairwoman for the California Coalition for Rural Housing.

Upcoming NCC Events:

Our next Business After Hours will take place at the RiverHouse by Bespoke Collection on Thursday, May 18 from 5:30-7 p.m. — on the downtown riverfront. Hope to see you there!
