Napa Chamber Announces 2009 Business of the Year
January 11, 2010

The Napa Chamber of Commerce has named Napa Community Bank the Business of the Year for 2009. The award comes after a strenuous application process in which aspiring businesses submit information to the Chamber for consideration. Napa Community Bank was chosen as the result of their extensive community support activities and their overwhelmingly positive approach to both customer service and employee retention.

The secret, says Nancy Stetler, Marketing Manager for the Bank, lies in the work ethic of Bank President, Dennis Pedisich and flows from there. Dennis’s approach is one of inclusion and encouragement towards his employees and an unerring “can-do” towards his clients. Volunteerism is encouraged among the staff and the number of charitable causes which the Bank supported in 2009 reached over 100. The Board of Directors and staff serve on the boards of 22 non-profit organizations and you will see Bank hosted refreshment tents at numerous charitable golf tournaments through out the year.

“Recognizing Napa Community Bank for being an outstanding partner to this community was made easier for our selection committee because they met or exceeded the six criteria, when only three were needed,” said Outgoing Chairman, Mike Silvas.

Napa Community Bank is the 7th annual winner of Business of the Year. They join Vallergas Market, Dey L.P, Napa Valley Vintners, Lixit Corporation, Cole’s Chop House/Celadon and Napa Valley Register as Business of the Year.

The Thomas L. Young Citizen of the Year award has been presented by the Napa Chamber of Commerce since 1970. The award will be presented at the Napa Chamber Annual Dinner to be held on January 22nd at the Napa Valley Marriott Hotel & Spa, from 6:30pm – 9:30pm. Tickets are $95 per person or $900 per table of ten. Make your reservation online atnapachamber.com or by phone (707) 226-7455 by January 14th.
