Redwood Credit Union Fire Assistance Update

The RCU Community Fund, in partnership with Senator Mike McGuire and the Press Democrat, have been accepting donations for fire victims and because 100% of the donated funds are going directly to the fire victims the fund has received more than $29 million. Here’s how the donations are being distributed in the four counties, including Napa, that were impacted by the North Bay wildfires.

Total funds distributed/committed to date: $20,191,304
The generous contributions of thousands of donors to the North Bay Fire Relief Fund have supported immediate needs of fire survivors and the community in the four affected counties in the following ways:
$15,848,763 to support:
  • People who lost homes
  • People experiencing economic hardship due to lost or interrupted employment as a result of the fires
  • First responders who lost homes while fighting fires and protecting our community
  • K-12 and college students who lost homes in the fires, for replacing school clothes and supplies
$2,650,000 to support:
  • Urgent food, housing and family support needs through local food banks and human services agencies.
$1,000,000 to support:
  • Small businesses in the four affected counties whose business were impacted by the fires
$692,541 to support:
  • Fire Survivor Health and Well-Being, including:
    • Health and dental care
    • Lost sports equipment to support impacted kids
    • Holiday programs for fire survivors
