NAPA CHAMBER AMBASSADOR’S NEWS

Before starting the report for the second quarter of 2009 I want to include the cookie recipe from the last report that was omitted.  Sorry about that! These cookies were served at our visit to the Napa Valley Adult School.  Thank you for sharing this recipe with us.

Jamborees

3 cups all purpose flour-I add a little more to make a denser cookie

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup sugar

1¼ cups butter, softened

1 tablespoon milk

2 eggs

2 tablespoons vanilla extract

½ cup jam or preserves-whatever kind you like

½ cup finely chopped walnuts

  Oven-375º                         50-60 cookies

In a large mixer bowl combine all ingredients except preserves and walnuts.

Blend well with mixer.  Drop by rounded teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheets.

Flatten bottom of glass dipped in sugar.

Spoon ¼ teaspoon preserves into center of cookie.  Sprinkle with walnuts.

Bake at 375º for 10-12 minutes until delicately browned.

                                                                                Enjoy!

President Steve Reinbolt and Co-Captains Sue Griffiths and Georgia Baughman thought the 2nd Quarter of 2009 would slow down from their last report.  To their delight business is booming in Napa and the Napa Chamber Ambassadors have been busy visiting and cutting all over town.
